Just when you thought that Justin Trudeau couldn’t appear more vacuous and out of touch with his fellow Canadians, he flies to Vancouver to meet with a socialist “advocacy group” called “Generation Squeeze”.
Generation Squeeze and Their Tax Proposal
Generation Squeeze believes that people who have “scrimped and saved” to own homes and who now own homes valued at over one million dollars should be taxed on their home value. This is so that Canadian savings and equity can be redistributed through socialism to unfortunate twenty-somethings (and socialist advocacy groups) who have been frozen out of the housing market by Trudeau’s thoughtless immigration policies.
Trudeau’s Divisive Immigration and Economic Policies
Trudeau’s admission of millions of immigrants a year has driven housing prices to the stratosphere, and strained municipal water, and power grids to the point of failure. Trudeau seeks to drive yet another wedge between Canadians by supporting “eat the rich” socialists who wish to tax the retirement equity of Canadian families for the benefit of all of the live at home twenty-somethings whose parents pay crippling power and heating bills so that their children can receive “carbon tax rebates” on power and heating bills that THEY DON’T PAY.
Rather than admit the complete failure of Trudeau’s World Economic Forum “penetrated” economic policies, Trudeau now wants to create intergenerational division in our society on top of all of the other divisive tactics he uses to cling to power like a monkey on a banana.
Population Growth in Alberta and Its Consequences
As of April 1st 2024, the population of Alberta was 4,849, 906. In April of 2016, the population of Alberta was 4,067,000. Since Trudeau was elected, without consulting Albertans including Alberta First Nations which Trudeau is constitutionally required to do, Trudeau’s policies have led to an almost 18% increase in Alberta’s Population.
In just the last year, Albertans were told that not only do we have a massive housing shortage making peoples’ lives unlivable but we are facing power shortages and water (infrastructure) shortages as a fact of our day to day life. Blame clearly rests with Trudeau and the failure of the Alberta Government to take steps to discourage economic migrants from coming to Alberta when we do not have sufficient housing, power and water from our existing population.
The Call for a “New Resident Carbon Tax”
Alberta’s present population growth rate is unsustainable. Immigration driven population growth is likely the single largest contributor to C02 gas emission increases in Alberta.
It is time that a “New Resident Carbon Tax” be applied to all new Alberta residents of 15% of their annual income. These funds can be used to pay for all of the new water mains, electrical infrastructure, healthcare and other amenities of our society that have been degraded by the intentional flooding of Alberta with new citizens arriving in numbers well beyond the present capacity of the province to absorb. If the notwithstanding provision of the Charter of Rights needs to be invoked to bring this policy into effect, so be it.
Maybe this would serve as notice that Alberta is full and that we have reached a point of NO VACANCY.
Proposed Resolution for Alberta’s Population Control
Perhaps this year’s United Conservative Party Annual General Meeting needs to adopt the following resolution:
WHEREAS there has been completely inadequate consideration of the consequences of Alberta’s Population exceeding 5,000,000 people and that Alberta Citizens have not been consulted with regard to the permitting of any further population increases through immigration or migration;
BE IT RESOLVED: That the government of Alberta pass legislation prohibiting the permanent population of Alberta exceeding 5,000,000 people and that surtaxes be applied to all new out of province residents relocating to Alberta in an amount of 15% of their income in order to offset the costs and degradation of Alberta Services and infrastructure associated with their residency.
