Nothing currently underlines the failures of the Trudeau Government better than the housing crisis sweeping Canada from coast to coast.
Trudeau and his minions are completely divorced from the basic concepts that underlie supply and demand economics. They apparently believe that they could bring in millions of immigrants, not deport hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens overstaying their student visas, and not provoke the worst housing shortage in Canadian history.
It is time to hang a no vacancy sign on all of Canada’s immigration offices and come up with a plan to integrate the millions of legal immigrants allowed in by Trudeau and to deport the millions of illegal aliens currently residing in Canada. It is no wonder that 18-30 year old CANADIANS are leaving the Liberal Party in droves and say that they will not be voting Liberal or NDP but instead will be voting to bring in a majority Conservative Government.
Rents are through the roof. Immigrants and illegal aliens are occupying two and three bedroom apartments 2 and 3 families at a time and affordable, available rental housing is becoming progressively impossible to find for young CANADIANS of all nationalities.
Rather than admitting that their profligate immigration policies are destroying the fabric of Canada the Trudeau Junta says that the answer is to import more immigrants to build houses for immigrants AND to interfere with the property rights of hard-working Canadians.
The latest attempt by Trudeau to convert Canada into a full-blown communist dictatorship involves special taxes on people who don’t use their own property in ways approved by the Dear Leader. Specifically, if you own a house or condo or have invested in houses and condos for use as short term vacation rental properties (Airbnb, etc…) the Trudeau brain trust wants to impose taxes that are so prohibitively high on that income stream that you will have no choice from an economic perspective other than to rent those properties as long term residential units or sell the properties.
This interference with “Property and Civil Rights in a Province” is yet another complete disregard for the Constitutional division of powers in s. 92(13) of the Constitution Act 1867 and is yet another massive over reach by Trudeau and the Communist Party of China who elected him.
Danielle Smith needs to invoke the Sovereignty Act to push back on this latest idiocy as well as to legislate against the Trudeau gun grab. This is why we all elected her and support her. It’s time to move beyond words to comprehensive legislative action to evict Trudeau from Alberta.
